Sechs kleine Klavierstücke, Op. 19 by Arnold Schönberg are short and aphoristic piano compositions, full of that expressionistic aestetic typical of the first part of Twentieth Century. I composed this variation of n.2 (Langsam) reversing the row‘s order while leaving the original chordal part. The doublebass plays the doublestop ostinato that qualifies this piece, providing the only rhythmic basis between piano and electronic drums.

I Sechs kleine Klavierstücke, Op. 19 di Arnold Schönberg sono delle composizioni per pianoforte aforisticamente brevi come miniature, permeati da quell’estetica espressionista tipica dei primi anni del ‘900. Ho composto questa variazione della n.2 (Langsam) ribaltando l’ordine della serie d’impianto, pur lasciando inalterate le parti cordali originali disposte in punti diversi. Al contrabbasso viene affidato l’ostinato di bicordo che caratterizza il Klavierstücke, ma che in questo caso assume il ruolo di unico pattern ritmico all’interno delle sospensioni del piano e della batteria elettronica.
