The material used in this piece is a double 4 tone row assigned to piano and doublebass. The idea is to deal with serial composition from a rhythmic perspective, trying to highlight construction or deconstruction of every idea introduced by the melodic instruments. The main inspiration for this process is the famous “Metamorphosis” by M.C. Escher, where the images blend together gradually.

Il materiale compositivo di questo brano è dato da due serie di quattro note ciascuna affidate al pianoforte e al contrabbasso. L’intento improvvisativo e, al contempo, compositivo è sviluppare in maniera esclusivamente ritmica il discorso seriale, prestando attenzione a far sì che ciascuna idea evidenzi una costruzione o una decostruzione graduale. Un po’ come accade nella famosa opera grafica “Metamorphosis” di M. C. Escher, in cui le figure mutano gradualmente tra loro.
