La cosa più divertente su “Getting my hands dirty” è stata manipolare i frammenti di beat per creare quella componente di imprevedibilità sull’intreccio ritmico. Cassa dritta, accordi semplici e due trombe che si rincorrono sul tema tra i due canali dell’immagine stereo. Improvvisare su un 5/4 così regala un grande senso di libertà.

Glitching was the funniest thing to exploit on “Getting my hands dirty”. It helped to create that unpredictable element inside the rhythmic layer. A straight bass drum, a simple harmony and two trumpets chasing each other through the stereo channels. Improvising on such a 5/4 beat gives a relieving sense of freedom.
