Mi chiedo se la genesi di “Aujourd’hui on parlera de l’Afrique” vada cercata nel diesel sgangherato in apertura, messo in moto in una assolata mattina di Aprile del 2012 su una polverosa strada di fronte casa di Fabio a Marsascala, Malta, ipotetica porta di ingresso ad un’Africa immensa, calda, inafferrabile; o nei dance loop che avevo assemblato per l’esibizione live con Roberto a LPM 2012. Resta la sensazione finale di apertura ad un mare immenso, il miraggio di una costa mediterranea braccata dalle sabbie sahariane e brulicante di vita.

I wonder whether the origin of “Aujourd’hui on parlera de l’Afrique” is to be found in the opening sound of a Diesel engine ignition, under the April 2012 morning sun on a dusty road just in front of Fabio’s house in Marsascala, Malta, hypothetical door to a huge, hot, elusive Africa; or in the dance loops I arranged for the LPM 2012 live show with Roberto. What stands out is that feeling of high seas, the mirage of Mediterranean coastlines hunted down by Saharan sand and swarming with people.
